Lameness

Location: Gartnerhaven 5, Ansager

This course is designed to improve participants' ability to diagnose and manage lameness in horses. Emphasis will be placed on recognizing lameness, localizing possible lesions, and understanding various diagnostic tools to ensure accurate assessment. Participants will also explore the different diagnostic approaches available, weighing their advantages and limitations.

The course is taught in English and is intended for veterinarians only.

You will learn more about:

• Analyse horses' locomotion in the field, helping to identify early signs of lameness.
• Perform or observe a real clinical examination focused on lameness diagnosis.
• Participate in the discussion of clinical cases involving lameness, enhancing their ability to interpret and apply diagnostic findings.
• By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Identify lameness in horses and accurately localize the source of the lesions.

• Recognize and compare different diagnostic approaches to lameness, understanding their respective pros and cons.
• Conduct or assist in clinical examinations of horses with lameness.
• Discuss and evaluate clinical cases of lameness to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies.

This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, providing a comprehensive foundation for assessing and managing lameness in horses.
