Modern ultrasound systems offer a wide range of settings, transducers, and advanced imaging technologies, yet many users only utilize a fraction of their scanner’s full potential. Understanding ultrasound physics, selecting the appropriate transducer, and knowing how to adjust key imaging parameters can significantly improve image quality, diagnostic confidence, and examination efficiency.

This course is designed to provide a practical understanding of ultrasound image optimization. Through a combination of theory and hands-on training, participants will learn how ultrasound images are created, how probe selection influences image quality, and how to optimize B-mode imaging for a variety of clinical applications. The course is taught by a veterinarian and ultrasound specialist from Mindray and includes an introduction to Mindray technologies and imaging solutions.

Course Content:

Select the Right Probe for the Examination
Learn how different transducers affect image quality, penetration, and resolution. Understanding probe selection will help you choose the most suitable transducer for each patient and clinical application.

Improve Image Quality
Learn how to optimize image settings and understand the most important controls and functions of your ultrasound system. Better image quality leads to improved visualization of anatomical structures and greater diagnostic confidence.

Understand Ultrasound Physics
Gain a practical understanding of the fundamental principles of ultrasound physics and how they influence image formation. This knowledge will help you make informed adjustments during examinations and achieve more consistent results.

Instructor


Afrodita Olmos Aguirrebena is a veterinarian specializing in ultrasound and diagnostic imaging. She comes from Mindray, where she is involved in ultrasound education and training. She regularly teaches ultrasound courses internationally, with a strong focus on image optimization, ultrasound technology, and scanner settings.
