Equine Dentistry

Kickstart your journey into equine dentistry with this two-day hands-on course. The course gives you a practical introduction to oral anatomy, radiology techniques, oral examinations, dental floating and extractions.

Through a combination of theory, demonstrations and practical sessions, you will build clinical skills that can be used directly in equine dental care.

The course is mainly focused on practical work and includes training on both cadaver heads and live horses.

You will learn more about:

  • How to perform thorough oral exams and document findings with precision
  • Dental radiology, x-ray techniques and interpretation
  • Pain management and nerve blocks
  • Dental floating and extractions
  • Dental care of young and geriatric horses
  • Diagnosis and management of periodontal disease
  • Practical techniques on cadaver heads and live horses
